My NEW Purse!

Hi ya'll! I had the best time shopping today! I splurged and bought myself a NEW Vera Bradley Handbag!!!!!!! I just LOVE it! Its sooooooooooooo roomy! It obviously goes with everything too! I just had to share this with someone! Hope everyone's having a great summer so far!

Pizza Night!

Alright maybe not really, but we can certainly pretend! Okay Moms! Heres a fun, unique, and inexpensive game for the kids! (And mess free too!) I created these fun sets out of felt today for my three year olds and we just had a blast playing chef at school! All you need is a pair of scissors and some craft felt. I got mine at Michaels arts and craft store at 20 cents per sheet! So the estimated cost of this game was under $2.00!!!!! Above are some scrumptious samples! Remember be creative! You can always add more toppings to your Pizza game! For storage I recommend the gallon sized zip-lock bags from Walmart! So there ya go Treasure seekers! What's your favorite Natural Beauty Product?

Good evening all, I have recently decided to opt for "Natural beauty Products" to accommodate me in my summer outdoor ventures and really year round ;) With that being said, here are the finds of the evening: California Baby sunscreen to protect baby and your delicate skin (they have this at Target now! yea!), Crabtree & Evelyn's (a long time favorite by the way) Jojoba Oil, a friend once told me this worked wonders for her son's eczema, (but then every skin type is different of course) and then finally Burts Bees! I just purchased this about a week ago because I was looking for an insect repellent that was Deet free, it smells exactly like furniture polish, (just what you've always wanted to smell like right?!) but NATURALLY does the trick! So there ya have it! The finds of the evening! Its your turn! What works best for you that is natural? Do tell.......until next time treasure seekers :)

Oh the Elegance!

A dear friend asked me to add a strand to this lovely piece now that she has two babies. I got so into it that I eneded up restringing the whole thing! I amazed myself with the way this one came out and I just had to share it :) I don't do double strands to often because they intimidate me, (there I said it!) but after these results I think that perhaps I shall change my mind!

The madness continues.....

I had a lovely, yet brief moment (5 days to be exact) of glorious and relaxing vacation time filled with much non-obligation and nothingness to bask in this past week, now its back to the old academic grind! Yes, summer classes have started. I am happy to say though that this past spring semester's crazy and almost sleepless nights devoted to writing last minute term paper reflections have finally paid off! All A's and one B to be exact!!!!! And I can say I did it working full time and going to school full time too! Never again, unless it is necessary. I have missed writing in Studio*Bijou! I feel as though this semester has practically sucked all the creativity left in my brain and physically drained me! How much creativity left you ask? Its simple. Let me paint you a picture. The setting: Picture a hammock nestled between two large coconut trees along an aqua green ocean, beside the hammock rests a frosted-cold glass of pink lemonade and the May edition of Southern Lady and Romantic homes. Along the soft sandy white beaches are clusters of tropical chikees and euro-bright sunbrellas! The location: Tahiti! In other real designing news I decided to try my hand at something so easy and elegant to create! I must admit that the credit goes to my previous Saturday spring semester class: "Arts and Crafts in Early Childhood." Aren't these flower pens just darling?! They make simple lovely gifts for Valentines, Showers, Birthdays, and Mothers Day just to name a few! Materials consist of: Self adhesive Green floral tape, Silk Flowers, and pens. The flowers pictured above include blushing Peonies (a current favorite of mine) and sunset colored roses. Other recommended flowers can include: Sunflowers, Gerber Daisies, Orchids, Magnolias, and Gardenias! Have fun, be creative, the possibilities are endless! By the Sea.....

Every Year we hold a Parade here in Sunny Florida known as: Gasparilla! I practically live in the heart of it, just up the street to be exact. I've been to quite a few...you seen one you seen em all, thats what I say :) I usually go in the opposite direction of the parade to avoid the crowds and the traffic! The picture above is of the renowned Gasparilla boat that holds the Pirates of Gasparilla. There are two Parades, one for adults and one for children. The boat was left in the bay during the week so I got front row seats and I also took some spectacular shots!

What a semester so far!

Hello Friends! I hope you all are doing well! I am sorry I haven't had a change to write as often as I use to, I started my new Job 2 weeks ago and Practicum three weeks ago, add a side dish of four classes to take and you get total madness! I just got back from a State Mandated Training Course for Early Childhood Educators this morning! One down, one to go! Anyways, it seems I have been tagged by Jemima Bean in a delightful little blogging game so here goes my 5 Things you didn't know about me:

1. I have never been drunk a day in my life, at least not yet ;)
2. I have never smoked before either (I am far from a goodie two shoes though lol!)
3. I suffer from occasional Panic Attacks (Especially if it involves writing a term paper)
4. I was almost kidnapped when I was around 8 or 9 years old (If you can, always keep your kids in your sight or know where they will be parents, even if their in their teens!)
5. A Friend convinced me to meet up with two guys she met on the net some years back at a book store/coffee shop (total geeks by the way...can't stand those shirts that say "I love geeks" I think I'd rather wear a shirt that says "I'm a geek" instead!) Knowing me though I was crazy enough to go along with it.

Spring Semester Starts

I miss doing nothing already. I have Zoey to make that up for me though :) It's official! Spring Classes have started and I have a new job working for an Early Childhood Facility! This semester is going to be the craziest, busiest one yet! I'm excited about the classes but am still super dreading it! I have so many community service hrs that I have to complete by May and I have started my First Practicum already. So with that being said I may be "MIA" at times due to my studies. I can't wait till summer. On a lighter note, S*B! interviews will be debuting sometime soon in my blog so stay tuned!!!!!

A Graduation Event!

Hi Family & Friends, Here are a couple of pictures from my brother's Graduation from University of South Florida that took place this past Saturday! He Graduated with his second Bachelor's in English. Way to go Bro! Keep on trucking! The pics are as followed: Top picture- The Graduate himself, Middle pic-The Graduate and his wife, Bottom pic-The Graduate and his sister aka "Me" (Doesn't he look thrilled to have his picture taken with me lol?) My good friend Mindy also Graduated from USF on Saturday with her BA in engineering. So a Special Congratulations goes out to Mindy too! Way to go Mindy!

Vintage Postcards: One of my many Collections Started!

There is something about A Vintage Santa Postcard that is magical! Is it perhaps the detail and hard work that designers put into them back in the day? I love collecting Vintage Holiday Postcards and have been collecting them for about a year now. My favorite vintage postcard designer is Ellen Clapsaddle! JohnWinsch is not too far behind as he is another artist I favor. What a wonderful talent both had! Vintage Holiday Postcards make beautiful decoration touches to the home! What ever Season we're in, I like to bring mine out to help Celebrate! They are such simple delights! I like to put them on the fridge lol! Kinda silly huh? Other common decor spots may include on the fireplace mantle, attached to a clip within a bouquet of flowers, they also make suprising Birthday cards, conversational center pieces and are perfect for the scrap-book lover! All you scrap-book lovers out there know what I'm talking about! They can range from an inexpensive 99 cents to a whopping $100 at antique shops and on ebay! I have been trying to collect the German Santa wearing Blue (See top picture) for the longest time now! He can be a hard one to find :) I found this one today but he is sitting at about $20 dollars right now and is most likely expected to go higher! Too bad he is not within my budget! I am considering the bottom picture though as this one sit holds a decent price!

Shabby, Euro, and Posh Oh My!!!!!!!

Aren't these just darling?! So unique and chic! I love em!!!!! My favorite one is the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd lol! Although I don't sew, I could certainly make use of these stylish pin cushions somehow. The lady who makes and sells these beauties also sews the most gorgeous children's boutique clothing! I'll be keeping an eye on these bad boys incase I find some cash (highly unlikely) which is scare in my neck of the woods these days lol! Cheerio for now darlings! :)
